Temporary residence permits

Normally, if you are criminally or medically inadmissible to Canada, you won’t be allowed to enter the country.

However, if you have a valid reason to travel to Canada that is justified in the circumstances, you may be eligible for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP).

A TRP allows people, who under normal circumstances would not be allowed into Canada, come into the country for a limited amount of time for specific purposes.

Valid reasons for entry may include:

- Travel for work (meetings, conferences, speaking engagements etc)

- To visit an unwell family member

- Attendance of a family wedding

To be eligible, your need to enter or stay in Canada must outweigh any risk to Canadians or Canadian society, as determined by an immigration or a border services officer.

Temporary Resident Permits can be issued for as little as one day or for as long as three years, depending on several factors including a person's reason for entering Canada and the strength of their application. That’s where we come in.

If you have been found to be inadmissible to Canada, or think you may be inadmissible, we can help.
